Cathal has lost everything. His family is in shambles, his best friend hasn't spoken to him in years, and he's only playing football because he's good at it. When Marco confesses, the rain clears, and his world becomes whole again.

"You said you were sorry." He excuses me with my own words. "You said you were sorry for hurting me, and for hurting her. You're the only person who's offered me that much, and hasn't made me feel crazy for wanting that either. I don't know why you think I was ever closer with anyone else. There's no replicating the way you care about me. I should have told you that more, more than anything else."
